About the role

St. Martin de Porres, an Independence Mission School, is seeking a Part Time Reading Interventionist Teacher (Middle School) for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Responsibilities

• assess student progress
• develop and implement tailored instructional strategies
• work closely with classroom and homeroom teachers
• provide targeted interventions based on individual student needs
• work primarily with small groups of students, with one-on-one support provided as needed

Qualifications

• experience supporting diverse learners
• strong collaboration skills
• a passion for helping students grow as readers and learners
• model outstanding character in accordance with Catholic teachings
• set high behavioral and academic expectations for students
• be skilled at measuring and using student growth data to inform instruction
• be an enthusiastic learner, committed to your own growth as an educator
• apply skills learned through frequent coaching, grade level teamwork, and professional development
• actively participate in the school community by lending your skills and interests to coaching and moderating extracurricular activities
• have experience teaching diverse learners and differentiating instruction (preferred)
• have a track record of leading students to successfully achieve those expectations (preferred)
• have experience working with children and communities in an urban setting (preferred)
