Part-Time Reading Interventionist

Position Details

Position: Reading Interventionist

Schedule: Monday--Friday

Hours: 29 hours per week

Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. -- 2:45 p.m.

Location: Wasatch Peak Academy

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide small-group reading intervention instruction to elementary students.
• Teach and reinforce foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
• Identify and address reading skill gaps through targeted intervention.
• Support student growth and confidence through engaging, evidence-based literacy instruction.
• Collaborate with the Literacy Specialist and classroom teachers to support student achievement.
• Maintain accurate records of intervention services and monitor student progress.
• Utilize school-approved literacy curricula, intervention programs, and assessment data to guide instruction.
• Foster positive relationships with students and create a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in training and professional learning opportunities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Knowledge of elementary literacy development and reading instruction.
• Familiarity with the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with small groups of students with varying academic needs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to supporting the academic success of all students.
