Part-Time Preschool Teacher

Key Responsibilities

• Auxiliary to the teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Prepare and clean up materials for lessons and activities
• Support individual and group instruction
• Supervise students during classroom time, outdoor play, assemblies, and emergency drills
• Assist with caregiving routines and implement respectful, responsive caregiving practices
• Engage children in meaningful and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Build positive, supportive relationships with students
• Receive and set up snacks and meals
• Maintain cleanliness of food service areas
• Supervise children during meals and encourage healthy habits
• Aid in the implementation of health and emergency procedures
• Report accidents immediately and document them in writing
• Follow first aid protocols as needed
• Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and parents
• Assist volunteers in the classroom
• Maintain confidentiality about students, staff, and school matters

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to supervise and engage children both indoors and outdoors
• Willingness to learn and grow in early childhood education practices
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff
• Commitment to professional and ethical behavior
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must participate in Safe Environment Training (Called to Protect)
• Must sign the Diocese Code of Ethics Policy
• Must complete fingerprinting, tuberculin testing, and meet all health and safety requirements
