Join our early childhood education team as a Part-Time Preschool Teacher at the Upper Marlboro Community Center. We're looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and dependable individual who is passionate about working with young children and creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities.
- Foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff.
- Follow all licensing regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and meet Maryland childcare licensing requirements.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR (infant/child and adult), or able to become certified within 60 days of hire (current certifications must be maintained throughout employment).
- Occasionally lift, drag, and push files, paper, and equipment weighing 25 pounds or more.
Preferred Qualifications
- 90-Hour Child Care Certification.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.

- Observe safety principles and work in a safe manner.
- Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, for self and others.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
- Weekends: May vary based on program and community center needs.
Working Conditions
- Classroom-based early childhood education setting.
- May include indoor and outdoor activities.
- Position involves frequent interaction and engagement with preschool-aged children.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a favorable background check, drug and alcohol testing, and fulfillment of all applicable Maryland childcare licensing requirements.
