Part Time Preschool Special Education Paraprofessional - Escalante Valley Elementary

About the role

Escalante Valley Elementary is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. This position plays a key role in providing education and related services within the school community.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students and student groups to reinforce learning activities (e.g., one-on-one help, small group direction, positive interaction).
• Assist in observing and recording behavior patterns; implement techniques to reinforce acceptable behavior.
• Support certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Assist with procedures related to physical and medical needs, including operating adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs).
• Help students develop self-care techniques, such as toilet training, bathing, personal cleanliness, diapering, feeding, and other self-help skills.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and carrying out classroom management systems.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with peers.
• Supervise students in all areas of the school.
• Lift and support students, change protective clothing, and implement behavior management plans.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.

Schedule

This is a part-time position working 11 hours per week.
