Part-Time Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, and decontaminate equipment.
• Record maintenance data, update patient information, and ensure specimens are collected and stored per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Use straight or butterfly needles, understand physician orders, and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package, label, and store specimens correctly, ensuring specimen integrity during transport.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend training, and handle inquiries about results.

Requirements

• Valid state phlebotomy certification (if required).
• Minimum 6 months' experience in venipuncture in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED, with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Float position covering multiple regions and cities.
• Requires a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Schedule

Shift hours vary between 6AM and 6PM, with 8-hour shifts.

Pay

Pay rate ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
