About the role
Assist with blood draws and specimen collection, troubleshooting, training, and workflow optimization.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles
- Label and process specimens accurately
- Explain procedures courteously to patients
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations
- Package and store specimens according to protocols
- Handle specimen transport and maintain laboratory equipment
- Respond to inquiries by reading and interpreting results
- Attend annual training to maintain safety and quality standards
Requirements
- Valid state-specific phlebotomy certification
- At least 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Experience with geriatrics and difficult sticks
- Willingness to travel to surrounding locations as required
