Long Island Treatment Center is seeking a compassionate, engaging, and dependable Part-Time (Per Diem) Group Facilitator to join our growing outpatient team. This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about helping individuals recover from substance use disorders and problem gambling while creating meaningful, interactive group therapy experiences.

Schedule

Available recurring weekly shifts (applicants may apply for one or multiple based on availability):

  • In-Person:
    • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM
    • Thursday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Telehealth:
    • Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging psychoeducational, process, relapse prevention, and skills-based groups for adults receiving outpatient treatment.
  • Create a welcoming, supportive, and clinically sound therapeutic environment.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions while adapting your facilitation style to meet the diverse needs of group members.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and multidisciplinary treatment team to enhance programming and client care.
  • Complete group documentation and clinical notes in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with OASAS, Joint Commission, and agency documentation standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

  • One of the following New York State credentials:
    • CASAC-G
    • CASAC-T actively completing required Problem Gambling training toward the gambling designation
    • LMHC
    • LMSW
    • LCSW
    • LCAT
  • Experience providing treatment for individuals with problem gambling is required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in the substance use and/or mental health field.
  • Experience facilitating both psychoeducational and process groups.
  • Familiarity with 12-Step recovery principles.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Must maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an OASAS-licensed treatment program.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), relapse prevention, and other evidence-based practices.
  • Experience facilitating both in-person and telehealth groups.
