About the role
A Flight Paramedic provides advanced pre-hospital and intra-hospital care during air transportation, ensuring patient safety and effective treatment from initial contact to transfer.
Responsibilities
- Complete and submit electronic patient care records timely
- Conduct daily base checks, including narcotic counts
- Maintain competency through ongoing training and documentation of licensure and certifications
- Operate and maintain equipment and supplies used in emergency services
- Collaborate with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public
- Participate in pre-mission briefings, debriefings, and safety procedures
- Assist with pre-flight checklists and pilot support as needed
- Ensure safety standards are followed to protect crew, patients, and equipment
- Fill open or vacant shifts as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience in 911 or critical care settings
- Current EMT-P license in the assigned region
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; trauma certification required prior to flight duty
- Advanced certification (FP-C) preferred, required within 24 months
- Instructor certifications and NREMT-P certification may be required depending on region
