About the role
Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care by applying both basic and advanced medical procedures. Work collaboratively with healthcare and public safety personnel, leading scene and unit management when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assess call situations and determine appropriate actions following paramedic protocols.
- Operate medical equipment such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and IV fluids to deliver advanced care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to offer reassurance and information.
- Lead scene management and coordinate with team members and receiving facilities.
- Utilize triage skills for efficient call handling.
- Lift and move patients to ensure optimal care.
- Drive ambulance and assist with navigation to minimize response times.
- Maintain professional relationships with community partners and participate in community outreach.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED; advanced education preferred.
- Current Montana Paramedic Certification or pending application.
- National Registry certification.
- Valid State Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS certifications.
- Ability to pass drug, background, and physical agility screenings.
Requirements
- Ability to work overnight shifts, demonstrate professionalism, and communicate effectively in emergency situations.
