About the role
Metis is seeking a part-time Pad Safety Supervisor to oversee hazardous and safety-critical operations for Eastern Range launch contractors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct operational reviews of launch contractor procedures
- Identify and analyze applicable safety standards and precautions
- Train and mentor other safety professionals
- Prepare safety documentation as directed to support System Safety programs for launch systems and weapon programs at launch ranges
- Create documents such as Operational Safety Plans, Explosive Safety Plans, Safety Operations Plans, Safety Checklists, Incident Reports, Trip Reports, and Incident Reports
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in missile, explosives, or armament/weapons testing and operations, including handling explosives or propellants, monitoring safety performance, and conducting facility safety inspections at missile processing and launch sites
- Training, certification, or coursework in health and safety engineering, test operations, and related fields
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED
- PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
- CSP Certification desired
Special Requirements
- Must have a clean-shaven face annually for an annual respirator fit check
