About the role
Metis is seeking a full-time Pad Safety Supervisor to oversee hazardous and safety-critical operations for Eastern Range launch contractors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct operational reviews of launch contractor procedures
- Identify and analyze applicable safety standards and precautions
- Train and mentor other safety professionals
- Prepare safety documentation as directed to facilitate the operational implementation of System Safety programs
- Ensure compliance with range requirements for missile, explosives, and armament/weapons testing and operations
- Handle explosives or propellants, monitor safety performance, and conduct facility safety inspections
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in missile, explosives, or armament/weapons testing and operations, including handling explosives or propellants, monitoring safety performance, and conducting facility safety inspections at missile processing and launch sites, or similar facilities
- Training, certification, or coursework in health and safety engineering, test operations, and related areas
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
- PREFERRED Education: Bachelor's Degree
- CSP Certification desired
Special Requirements
- This position requires 20% travel
- Must have a clean shaven face once a year for annual respirator fit check
