Part-Time Pad Safety Supervisor

About the role

Metis is seeking a part-time Pad Safety Supervisor to oversee hazardous and safety-critical operations for Eastern Range launch contractors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct operational reviews of launch contractor procedures
• Identify and analyze applicable safety standards and precautions
• Train and mentor other safety professionals
• Prepare safety documentation to support System Safety programs for launch systems and weapon programs at launch ranges
• Create documents such as Operational Safety Plans, Explosive Safety Plans, Safety Operations Plans, Safety Checklists, Incident Reports, Trip Reports, and Incident Reports

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in missile, explosives, or armament/weapons testing and operations
• Experience handling explosives or propellants, monitoring safety performance, and conducting facility safety inspections at missile processing and launch sites
• Training, certification, or coursework in health and safety engineering, test operations, and related fields
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• CSP Certification desired
