The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, in Hershey, PA is seeking a part-time overnight sleep technician.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings;
- Monitor and track research studies to ensure quality control;
- Perform PSGs and DXA scans and participate in the collection of Actigraphy, Holter EKG monitor and other research participant data;
- Maintain supplies for sleep laboratory as well as recording equipment to ensure it is in working order at all times for research studies;
- Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine, blood) and knowledge of phlebotomy desired but not required. Training is available if needed;
- Participate in aspects of sleep data management for assigned projects including: update and maintain databases; resolve problem data issues; track data collection forms, and other project materials; perform verification procedures;
- Collaborate with project coordinators, statisticians, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.
Requirements
- Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred. Will consider sleep studies training in candidates with suitable experience.
- Work Related Experience: 1 year related work experience required; 5 years preferred.

- The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
