USU Tremonton is seeking a part-time Outreach Specialist and Classroom Facilitator to ensure classes are set up and run smoothly, providing students with a quality educational experience. This role involves community engagement, representing USU Tremonton locally, and managing social media campaigns and outreach activities.
About the role
This is a part-time position working up to 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule based on center needs, student schedules, and local events. Some nights and weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities
- Greet the public, answer telephones, and provide positive communications with students and community members.
- Handle student needs regarding testing, classroom access, facilitation, and connection for classes and events.
- Assist students and the public with information about USU programs and ensure potential students receive the help they need.
- Maintain a neat and organized personal appearance and a positive work environment at the Tremonton center.
- Assist and promote community events, student government activities, and various Tremonton and regional campus events.
- Coordinate and actively participate in social media postings, including live broadcasts and other engaging content.
- Create humorous and creative posts to increase public viewing and participation.
Requirements
- Experience creating social media postings.
- Strong customer service background or knowledge, with the ability to create positive experiences while interacting with others.
- Associate degree (or equivalent training) or higher from a college or university is preferred.
- Proficiency with common computer software such as word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and social media sites.
- Positive personality that is inviting and engaging, along with good personal hygiene.
- Effective presentation and speaking skills, especially in one-on-one interactions at the front desk.
- Ability to work in a team setting with a service-oriented attitude and a desire for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Willingness and ability to work up to 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
- Willingness to actively participate in social media marketing, including being the face of USU Tremonton for live broadcasts.
Benefits
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, though occasional temperature changes may occur. The role regularly requires sitting and repetitive hand motions (such as typing).
Pay
$12/hour
