About the role
American Greetings is seeking a Merchandiser to help showcase and maintain inventory levels of our celebrations products. This role involves merchandising and organizing product orders, displaying items in greeting card departments and other retail locations, and managing backroom areas.
Responsibilities
- Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders
- Display product within greeting card departments and other retail locations
- Maintain an organized backroom area
- Other inventory tasks as needed
- Communicate with management about service or schedule issues
- Utilize effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced retail environment
- Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours
- Occasionally assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested
- Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company-issued tablet
- Work independently and with a team
Requirements
- No prior experience necessary, training provided
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Access to reliable transportation and internet
- Technological competency to use company-issued tablet for training and daily activities
- Meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and major holiday periods
Qualifications
- Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 40 pounds throughout the workday
- Ability to use a stepstool as needed
Pay and Schedule
The starting pay is $14.00 per hour with increases to $14.80 after 6 months and $15.50 after 1 year. Flexible work scheduling is offered. We provide paid training and a 401(k) with company match.
Schedule
The weekly average hours are 5 hours, which may increase to 10 hours around holidays. Ideal candidates should be available during daytime hours, particularly Monday mornings, and be prepared to work additional days and hours leading up to and following major holidays.
