Part-time Medical Director - Greensboro, NC

About the Role

Crossroads Treatment Centers has been at the forefront of treating patients with opioid use disorder since 2005. We provide the most accessible, highest quality, evidence-based medication assisted treatment (MAT) options to combat the growing opioid epidemic. Our comprehensive approach, the gold standard in care for opioid use disorder, prevents deaths from overdose and supports long-term recovery. We operate outpatient, office-based clinics across Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in our outpatient clinic settings
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment
  • Complete medical documentation by Crossroads standards
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic care to patients, including referrals to other medical providers and community services
  • Provide injections if needed
  • Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (additional stipend provided)

Schedule & Locations

  • Primary center: Greensboro
  • Target weekly hours: 5-10 hours (combination of patient-facing and admin/virtual hours)
  • Proposed schedule: 1 day in center per week
  • Must be onsite at least 4 hours per month

Requirements

  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license authorized to practice medicine in the state of practice
  • Board certified in primary specialty in one of the following: Family Medicine/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Psychiatry
  • DEA Certificate of Registration in the state of practice with ability to schedule 2, 2N, 3, 4, & 5
  • Must have or be eligible for enrollment for Medicaid and Medicare credentials
  • Additional education or certification may be required depending on state of practice

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in addiction medicine, preferably treating patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and/or providing medication for opioid use disorder
