Role Overview
The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to provide patient care, performing all duties of an MA I and demonstrating full competence in clinical tasks within their assigned clinic or location. They are expected to adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in patient care activities, including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
- Perform clinical functions independently, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Support healthcare team with administrative and clinical duties as directed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate from an accredited school with hands‑on clinical training, or completion of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship, or military medical training, or at least one year of relevant work experience.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: National Medical Assistant Certification.
- Minimum healthcare and medical assistant experience of six months each.
