Part-time Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

Burton Center is looking for a part-time (up to 30 hours every other week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to add to our Residential Program in Greenwood, SC. LPNs fulfill Burton Center's mission to develop and discover unlimited potential in adults with disabilities and special needs by providing quality health and wellness support.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality health maintenance and prevent illness and accidents
• Supervise overall medication administration and document according to approved schedules
• Teach adults about their medications and how to safely self-administer them according to a defined teaching program
• Conduct developmental assessments yearly or as scheduled by the Director of Nursing
• Monitor and schedule laboratory work and advocate for individuals during wellness checkups and evaluations
• Attend meetings to review and prepare psychotropic drug reports
• Monitor individuals to ensure accurate monthly wellness reports, maintain up-to-date medication supplies, and prevent accidents or injuries
• Inspect living areas for healthy and proactive safety conditions to complete a monthly infection control report
• Step in with direct support during emergencies and accompany individuals to hospital visits

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited school
• Valid SC Driver's License
• One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Current SC Board of Nursing License
• Clear oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally
