Part Time Level I Special Education Paraprofessional - 3 Positions Available - Canyon View Middle

About the role

Canyon View Middle School is seeking three Part-Time Level I Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with disabilities under the direction of a Special Education Teacher.

Schedule

• One position: 27.5 hours per week
• Two positions: 25 hours as Level I Special Education Paraprofessional plus 2.5 hours as Lunch Monitor per week

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and assistance to students and student groups to reinforce learning activities
• Assist in observing and recording behavior patterns; follow appropriate techniques to reinforce acceptable behavior
• Support certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of classroom management systems
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with peers
• Supervise students in all areas of the school, including during lunch hour
• Operate office equipment such as computers and copy machines
• Monitor students inside and outside the building during lunch

Requirements

• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance
• Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with Google Docs, and frequent email checking
• Willingness to learn and use all required computer systems and software
