Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Public Health (AY 26/27)
About the role
The Kinesiology & Public Health Department in the Bailey College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for the Public Health part-time lecturer pool. Appointments are available as determined by need during Fall and/or Spring semester of the 2026-27 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate Public Health major and general education courses.
- Assignments may include a combination of the following:
- General education courses in healthy living, multicultural health, and women's health.
- Public Health undergraduate courses such as introduction to public health; multicultural perspectives and health; women's health and society; social determinants of health; applied epidemiology; public health policy; health care systems; public health and mental health; drugs in society; health behavior theory; medical terminology; public health internship; research methods in public health settings; health promotion program planning; global health; work-site health promotion.
- Laboratory courses in applied epidemiology, research methods in public health settings, health promotion program planning & evaluation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education/Promotion, Health Psychology, or related field with relevant experience in a public health setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES/MCHES).
- Preference given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in college teaching and/or relevant experience in a public health setting.
