Lecturer Pool for Department of Public Health (AY 26-27)
About the role
The Department of Public Health at Cal State East Bay is seeking part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as needed for the Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027. The department teaches undergraduate courses in public health and health sciences.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses within the department, covering areas such as health/medical humanities, health disparities/health equity, bioethics, health law, health economics, health regulation, health care payment systems, and health data & information management.
- Teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or Online.
- Teaching responsibilities are expected to be performed within the state of California.
Qualifications
- A doctoral-level degree, e.g., PhD, DrPH, MD, JD, or proof of candidacy for a doctorate is required.
- Candidates with a Master’s Degree and accompanying certification or work experience will be considered.
- Experience teaching within a population perspective through a lens of social determinants is desired.
- Experience teaching at the college/university level is preferred.
Salary and Appointment
Rank and salary are dependent upon educational preparation and experience. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
Date of appointment: Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
