Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Packaging (AY 26/27)
About the role
The Industrial Technology, Packaging, and Entrepreneurship area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is seeking applications for part-time lecturers and lab instructors during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026-27 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in packaging design, packaging polymers and processing, packaging machinery and processes, packaging sustainability, instrumental analysis of packaging polymers, packaging quality assessment, packaging laws and regulations, healthcare packaging, packaging performance testing, fiber-based packaging, and packaging development.
- Assignments are contingent upon class availability, scheduling, budget, and enrollments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Industrial Technology, Design, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated currency in the professional field through ongoing work, training, or engagement with industry trends.
- Substantial and relevant industry experience, showing depth of knowledge and practical application in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS, MBA, or PhD in Packaging, Industrial Technology, Design, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong teaching potential and commitment to maintaining currency in the professional field.
