Part-Time Lecturer Pool, Fowler School of Engineering, Fall 2026
About the role
The Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool for Fall 2026 in the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Game Development.
Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and ends late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer and Interterm Sessions may also be available. All instruction is delivered on Chapman University's main campus in Orange, California.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or in your area of expertise
- Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments
- Hold office hours to support student learning and success
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure course outcomes align with program objectives
Qualifications
- Required: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
- Prior university-level teaching experience is preferred
- Significant industry experience in relevant areas is valued

Successful completion of a background check is required for all final candidates selected from the pool. The pay range for course and course related work for this position is $51.28 per hour. This position is contingent on final budget approval.
