About the Role

Current openings to teach courses in Aerospace Engineering for fall or spring semesters during the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates with extensive industry experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

  • Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677
  • Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224
  • Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523
  • Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge and skill in the areas of Propulsion, Aircraft/Spacecraft Design, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Controls, Structures, and/or Aerodynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree, teaching experience, and experience in the discipline are preferred.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Relevant work experience and professional capabilities.

Special Conditions

  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) is required following a conditional offer of employment. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer.
