About the role
The Health Law Externship Seminar is a 1-credit course designed to introduce law students to various practice areas within health law. Students engage in fieldwork with placements such as law firms, agencies, and corporations, supervised by licensed attorneys. Additionally, students participate in a bi-weekly seminar where they learn from experts in the field.
Responsibilities
- Teach and supervise law students in the 1-credit Health Law Externship Seminar.
- Facilitate discussions on professional responsibility, ethical considerations, and connections between health law courses and practice.
- Instruct students on how to contextualize their work and become reflective practitioners.
- Supervise students during their fieldwork placements, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance and support.
- Mentor students individually to discuss their goals and progress, providing timely feedback and encouraging reflection.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience working in health law and a commitment to collaborative education. Experience with clinical pedagogy is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A strong background in health law is essential.

Benefits
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and internal pay comparison.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $2,175.00 to $3,500.00 per month.
Schedule
The teaching schedule for this position is part-time, with classes beginning in Spring 2027.
