About the role
The Part-Time Japanese Teacher will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction for students in Grades K–5. The ideal candidate brings a passion for teaching language and culture, and the ability to create a joyful, interactive classroom environment that supports all learners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Japanese language instruction for elementary students (K–5).
- Build foundational skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Integrate Japanese culture into lessons to deepen student understanding.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment aligned with school values.
- Absess and monitor student progress, providing feedback as needed.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to support student learning.
- Participate in school events and meetings as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Japanese, Education, or related field.
- Fluency in Japanese (spoken and written).
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred
- Teaching credential or certification.
- Experience in independent or private school settings.
- Familiarity with project-based or experiential learning.
