Part-time Instructor (Pool) - Languages & Literature - Japanese/Korean

About the role

Austin Peay State University is currently seeking part-time, temporary, Instructors in the area of Japanese or Korean language instruction. Salary is based on course load and determined by the department.

Responsibilities

• Teach Japanese or Korean language courses at the college level
• Develop and maintain curriculum and instructional materials
• Assess student learning outcomes
• Maintain current knowledge of language teaching methodologies and pedagogical trends
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Japanese or Korean language education or related field
• At least 18 credit hours in Japanese or Korean language education or related field
• Experience teaching Japanese or Korean language at the college level
• Excellent communication skills in both languages
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese or Korean
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Skills

• Knowledge of language teaching methodologies and pedagogical trends
• Ability to develop and maintain curriculum and instructional materials
• Effective communication skills in both languages
