About the role
Wake Technical Community College is seeking part-time faculty to teach Basic Law Enforcement training courses in Continuing Education Services. Positions are available based on qualifications and future needs.
Responsibilities
- Delivers instruction that reflects appropriate learning outcomes consistent with the most current industry standards
- Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
- Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
- Uses formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
- Designs curriculum
- Maintains communication with course committee instructors and participates in instructional discussions
- Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
- Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
- Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
- Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
- Supports the Department, Division, and College goals, providing requested data in a timely manner
Requirements
- Certified North Carolina Law Enforcement Instructor
- Certification must be through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards or North Carolina Sheriff's Education Training and Standards
