Part-time Instructor, Law Enforcement Training In-Service

About the role

Wake Technical Community College is seeking part-time faculty to teach Basic Law Enforcement training courses in Continuing Education Services. Positions are available based on qualifications and future needs.

Responsibilities

• Delivers instruction that reflects appropriate learning outcomes consistent with the most current industry standards
• Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
• Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
• Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
• Uses formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
• Designs curriculum
• Maintains communication with course committee instructors and participates in instructional discussions
• Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
• Supports the Department, Division, and College goals, providing requested data in a timely manner

Requirements

• Certified North Carolina Law Enforcement Instructor
• Certification must be through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards or North Carolina Sheriff's Education Training and Standards
