Part-Time, Hourly Contracted Occupational Therapist

JOB GOAL/PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this position is to enable children with disabilities to access their education.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluate fine motor, visual perceptual, functional and sensory motor skills as they relate to the educational setting.
  • Plan and implement therapy programs for children with a variety of developmental, fine motor, functional, musculoskeletal, and sensory motor impairments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and staff.
  • Maintain appropriate licensing as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with colleagues.
  • Prepare written reports, maintain progress reports, rate goals, and attend and participate in IEP team meetings.
  • Maintain records/files documenting referral, assessment, recommendations, and therapy notes.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy from a college with an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • National certification (NBCOT).
  • State of Maine Licensure.
  • Hold a valid State of Maine Criminal History Records Check Approval.
  • Public School experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of developmental, orthopedic, and neurological disorders.
  • Knowledge of sensory-based theories, tools, and strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
