About the role
The St. George MSU is seeking a dynamic Gifted & Talented (GT) Teacher to collaborate with the school's team. The position involves identifying high-performing learners, designing differentiated instruction, and monitoring achievement through data.
Responsibilities
- Manage the universal screening process and review student data.
- Lead the GT Steering Committee to identify and place qualified students.
- Partner with K-8 teachers on universal instruction, co-teaching, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) tiered support.
- Design and deliver individualized/small-group instruction using a whole-child approach.
- Cultivate strong relationships with students and staff.
- Participate in professional development focused on extended learning strategies.
Qualifications
- Maine 690 certification (or eligibility) and current CHRC.
- Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience (GT experience preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for K-8 learners.
