Part-Time Gifted & Talented Teacher

About the role

The St. George MSU is seeking a dynamic Gifted & Talented (GT) Teacher to collaborate with the school's team. The position involves identifying high-performing learners, designing differentiated instruction, and monitoring achievement through data.

Responsibilities

• Manage the universal screening process and review student data.
• Lead the GT Steering Committee to identify and place qualified students.
• Partner with K-8 teachers on universal instruction, co-teaching, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) tiered support.
• Design and deliver individualized/small-group instruction using a whole-child approach.
• Cultivate strong relationships with students and staff.
• Participate in professional development focused on extended learning strategies.

Qualifications

• Maine 690 certification (or eligibility) and current CHRC.
• Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience (GT experience preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for K-8 learners.
