Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach academically talented students
• Facilitate project and inquiry-based curricula emphasizing critical thinking with interdisciplinary connections
• Utilize smart board technology and multi-media presentations
• Employ a constructivist teaching style
• Show evidence of originality, initiative, commitment to excellence, and enthusiasm for teaching
• Show flexibility in teaching style and knowledge of cooperative learning

Education Requirements

• Master’s degree preferred
• New York State Permanent Certification (K-12) in Teacher Education
• Dual certification a plus

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Experience preferred in teaching academically talented students
• Excellent reading, writing and communication skills
• Knowledge of facilitating curriculum that is project and inquiry based, emphasizing critical thinking with interdisciplinary connections
• Technology expertise: knowledge of smart board technology and multi-media presentations
• Constructivist teaching style
• Evidence of originality, initiative, commitment to excellence, and enthusiasm for teaching
• Flexibility in teaching style, knowledge of cooperative learning
