Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach academically talented students
- Facilitate project and inquiry-based curricula emphasizing critical thinking with interdisciplinary connections
- Utilize smart board technology and multi-media presentations
- Employ a constructivist teaching style
- Show evidence of originality, initiative, commitment to excellence, and enthusiasm for teaching
- Show flexibility in teaching style and knowledge of cooperative learning
Education Requirements
- Master’s degree preferred
- New York State Permanent Certification (K-12) in Teacher Education
- Dual certification a plus
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience
- Experience preferred in teaching academically talented students
- Excellent reading, writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of facilitating curriculum that is project and inquiry based, emphasizing critical thinking with interdisciplinary connections
- Technology expertise: knowledge of smart board technology and multi-media presentations
- Constructivist teaching style
- Evidence of originality, initiative, commitment to excellence, and enthusiasm for teaching
- Flexibility in teaching style, knowledge of cooperative learning
About LIU Post
