Part-Time/ Full Time Early Childhood Support Teacher

Maayan Torah Day School is a warm, nurturing Jewish private school seeking a caring, flexible, and dependable Part-Time Support Teacher to join our early childhood team. We serve children from infancy through 5 years of age, and this role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and building relationships across multiple classrooms.

About the Role

This position supports our teaching team by providing classroom coverage for:

• Teacher breaks
• Teacher prep time
• One-on-one meetings
• Staff meetings and other scheduled coverage needs
• Office or curriculum support for teachers

You’ll work with all age groups, from infants through preschoolers.

Schedule

Regular School Schedule:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:20 AM – 3:30 PM
• Friday: 8:20 AM – 2:30 PM

Extended Care (optional additional hours):

• Morning Care: 7:30 AM – 8:20 AM
• Aftercare (Monday–Thursday): 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
• Aftercare (Friday): 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

This is primarily a part-time role with flexible opportunities to pick up substitute hours, work in morning or aftercare programs, or take on additional scheduled coverage as needed. The right candidate may have potential for growth into a larger position over time.

Requirements

As a licensed childcare facility, the following certifications are required upon hire (most can be completed online; CPR and First Aid require in-person training):

• Enrollment in the Oregon Criminal History Registry
• Food Handler's Card
• Infant/Toddler CPR & First Aid Certification
• Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
• Introduction to Health and Safety
• Safe Sleep for Infants and Toddlers
• Prevention Is Better Than Treatment
• Foundations for Learning
