About the role
The CNP Food Service Specialist – Part-Time assists with the operation of a food preparation and service establishment. This role involves serving customers, stocking supplies, operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and using point of sales systems. Responsibilities include cutting/chopping fruits and vegetables, following recipes, adhering to kitchen processes, monitoring students during meal periods, and performing kitchen cleaning duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, food safety, and quality assurance for students.
- Provide customer service and interact with staff, students, and families.
- Operate food service equipment and maintain food service spaces and equipment, reporting malfunctions to the manager.
- Perform various cafeteria cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, disposing of trash, and moving cafeteria tables and mobile work vending stations.
- Loading and unloading food and non-food products weekly.
- Encourage students to participate in the meal program and ensure accurate meal counts.
- Ensure reimbursable meals are provided to students and meals are ready according to campus schedules.
- Follow recipes and report errors to the Cafeteria Manager.
- Adhere to established processes and procedures, discussing situations where they cannot be fully followed with the Cafeteria Manager.
Requirements
- 1+ years of work experience in a job requiring physical activity for multiple hours on feet.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds via solo lift and up to 50 pounds with a partner, bend, pull, push, twist, stand, and walk while on duty or during a work shift.
- Ability to obtain locally-recognized manager food safety certification.

- Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $15.30 to $17.60, with the possibility of a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment.
