About the role

The CNP Food Service Specialist – Part-Time assists with the operation of a food preparation and service establishment. Responsibilities include serving customers, stocking supplies, operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and using point of sales systems. This role involves interacting with students, monitoring meal times, and performing various cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation, food safety, and quality assurance for students.
  • Provide customer service and interact with staff, students, and families.
  • Operate food service equipment and maintain food service spaces and equipment.
  • Notify manager of equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform various cafeteria cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, disposing of trash, and moving cafeteria tables and mobile work vending stations.
  • Loading and unloading food and non-food products on a weekly basis.
  • Encourage students to participate in the meal program, especially when observed not eating.
  • Ensure accurate counts of student meals and reimbursement meals.
  • Ensure meals are ready according to campus meal schedules.
  • Follow recipes and report errors to the Cafeteria Manager.
  • Adhere to established processes and procedures, discussing issues with the Cafeteria Manager when necessary.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of work experience in a job requiring physical activity for multiple hours on feet.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds via solo lift and up to 50 pounds with a partner.
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, twist, stand, and walk while on duty or during a work shift.
  • Ability to obtain locally-recognized manager food safety certification.
