Responsibilities
- Aid in the operations of the Emergency Food Pantry and other food distribution programs.
- Tasks include assisting with volunteer coordination, ordering food from the Food Bank and other vendors, picking up, unloading, stocking, and inventorying.
- Assist with client intake: greet guests and route people to the correct program.
- Operate seasonal programs such as Long Point Camp recruitment, Holiday food, and Angel Tree.
- Participate in the Red Kettle Campaign: recruit and schedule volunteer bell ringers, set up and collect kettles, relieve volunteers, and ring as needed.
- Manage the cleaning and upkeep of the physical site.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Center Manager and/or Service Extension Director.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1-year related experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Organized and able to multi-task are key attributes.
- Proficiency with computer office programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Database, internet, etc.) is required.
- A valid driver's license meeting The Salvation Army's insurance requirements is necessary.
