Part Time/Flexible HR Consultant - Texas

About the role

At Catapult, we are seeking consultants located in Texas, ideally in Houston, Dallas, and/or Austin metro areas, to support client organizations through ongoing fractional HR assignments. This part‑time, flexible role is ideal for experienced HR professionals who want to stay engaged in meaningful, impactful HR projects without committing to full‑time work. Assignments vary in scope, duration, and hours are not guaranteed, offering diverse work experiences for those who value flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strategic and tactical HR support to multiple clients across many industries
• Provide guidance in all areas of HR, including compliance, employee relations, performance management, benefits, and more
• Help implement or manage payroll, HRIS systems, and leave administration processes
• Conduct workplace investigations and advise on employment law compliance
• Build strong client relationships through responsive, professional service

Requirements

• 10+ years of exempt‑level HR Generalist and/or HR Management experience
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, client‑focused, and adaptable
• Experience with payroll and HRIS implementations (preferred)
• Background in benefits and leave administration (preferred)
• Strategic HR and people management experience (strongly preferred)
• HR certification(s) preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP)
• Cannot be held in addition to a full‑time job

Schedule

This is a part‑time, flexible role. Assignments are project‑based and not guaranteed to be ongoing or follow a regular schedule. The position is remote‑first, though you must be available to travel to local client sites as needed.
