Part Time Field Service Technician

Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group has an opening for a Part Time Field Service Technician in the Fort Smith, AR area. You will train on key duplicating (Minute Key), tag engraving (Quick Tag) kiosks, and 3rd party service (Eco-ATM, Pokémon). The territory includes 40+ kiosks, with approximately 20 hours per week.

About the role

• Re-stock and perform routine service on kiosks as needed (determined by demand at the machine, or schedule).
• Perform on-call repairs or adjustments when a machine goes out of order.
• Install new kiosks or swap newer machines in the local area.
• Monitor machines in territory daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power problems.
• Keep track of inventory for re-stocking machines.
• Grow revenue in territory by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, and store relationships.

Duties may change or new ones may be assigned at any time. Employees are expected to participate in safety and health program activities, including reporting hazards and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance (preferred).
• Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations, and customer service (preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role (preferred).
• Experience with tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, including technical terminology.
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Professional representation of Hillman at all times.
• Ability to work weekends when required.
• Excellent driving record with a valid driver’s license (clean record is mandatory).
• Reliable transportation with automobile insurance (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Reliable cell phone (reimbursed).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Varies due to location/store set-up; may be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors.
• Daily travel required; may drive up to 200 miles per day.
• Hand/eye coordination, functional vision, and hearing required.
• Medium physical demand: lifting up to 30 lbs., occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.

Pay

$22 - $24 an hour, based on experience.
