Part Time Field Service Technician

Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group has an opening for a Part Time Field Service Technician in the New Albany, IN area. The territory consists of 40+ kiosks and the number of hours per week is around 20.

About the role

You would begin your career with RDS as a Kiosk Technician training on key duplicating (Minute Key), tag engraving (Quick Tag) kiosks as well as 3rd party service (Eco-ATM, Pokémon).

Responsibilities

• Re-stock and perform routine service on kiosks as needed (determined by demand at the machine, or schedule).
• Perform on-call repairs or adjustments to the machine when the machine goes out of order.
• New kiosk installations or swap newer kiosks of machines in the local area.
• Monitor machines in territory daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power issues.
• Keep track of inventory for re-stocking machines that are in Kiosk Tech’s possession.
• Grow revenue in territory by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, store relationships, etc.
• Immediately report hazards, unsafe work practices, and incidents to supervisors.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and participate in safety committee activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance (preferred).
• Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations, and customer service (preferred).
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar profile (preferred).
• Experience with tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, including technical “jargon”.
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to always represent Hillman professionally.
• Ability to work weekends when required.
• Excellent driving record with a valid driver’s license (clean driving record is mandatory; major driving violations will eliminate potential candidates).
• Reliable transportation with automobile insurance (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Reliable cell phone (reimbursed).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Sales/Service environment varies due to location/store set-up; may be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors.
• Daily travel required; may drive up to 200 miles daily.
• Hand/eye coordination and functional vision and hearing required.
• Medium physical demands: lifting up to 30 lbs., occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.

Pay

This role pays $22 - $24 an hour, based on experience. Car allowance, cell-phone reimbursement, and a corporate gas card for business miles are provided.
