Part Time Field Service Technician

Job Summary

Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group has an opening for a Part Time Field Service Technician in the Wichita, KS area. The position pays $22-25 an hour and includes a car allowance, cell-phone reimbursement, and a corporate gas card for business miles.

About the Role

This is an hourly role based on experience. The territory consists of 20+ kiosks and hours per week are flexible, ranging from 8-20. Essential job functions include re-stocking and performing routine service on kiosks, installing new kiosks, monitoring machines for issues, and growing revenue in the territory.

Essential Job Functions

• Re-stock and perform routine service on kiosks as needed.
• Perform on-call repairs or adjustments to the machine when the machine goes out of order.
• New kiosk Installations or swap newer kiosks of machines in the local area.
• Monitor machines in territory daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power issues.
• Keep track of inventory for re-stocking machines that are in Kiosk Tech’s possession.
• Grow revenue in territory by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, store relationships, etc.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance (preferred)
• Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations and customer service (preferred)
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar profile (preferred)
• Experience with tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English to include technical “jargon”

Competencies

• Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to always represent Hillman professionally
• Ability to work weekends when required

Operational Equipment

• Must have an excellent driving record with a valid driver's license.
• Clean driving record is mandatory.
• Major driving violations will eliminate potential candidates.
• Must have reliable transportation with automobile insurance (mileage reimbursement).
• Must have a reliable cell phone (reimbursed).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Sales/Service Environment varies due to location/store set-up.
• May be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors.
• Travel required daily. May have to drive 200 miles daily.
• Hand/eye coordination required.
• Function vision and hearing required.
• Physical Demands: Sales/Service - Medium, lifting up to 30 lbs., occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
