About the Role

The Earth and Environmental Sciences program at UWG is seeking a qualified individual to teach one section of Hydrogeology (GEOL 4084), a required course in the geology curriculum, during the spring 2026 semester. The course consists of a 3-credit lecture and a 1-credit lab. While the program is open to hybrid instruction for nearby instructors, this section is planned to be offered solely online.

Responsibilities

• Design and teach one online section of GEOL 4084-Hydrogeology, including both lecture and lab components, introducing students to theoretical and practical applications of hydrogeology.
• Provide assistance to students through online office hours at reasonable and regular times.
• Manage clear, regular, and engaging communication with students enrolled in the course.
• Develop a full semester (15 weeks) of lectures (3 hours per week) and lab content (1 hour per week) relevant to modern hydrogeologic practices, issues, and compliance.

Requirements

• Required Education: B.S. in geology, geological engineering, or a related field.
• Required Experience: Minimum of 18 graduate-level course credits in geology or a related field, with some credits in the hydrogeology subdiscipline.

Qualifications

• Preferred Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in geology or a related discipline with expertise in hydrogeology.
• Preferred Experience: Teaching experience at the undergraduate level or professional hydrogeological experience.

Skills

• Knowledge: Hydrogeologic principles and practical applications relevant to modern geologic and environmental issues.
• Skill: Ability to effectively communicate course content using UWG’s course management system.
• Abilities: Understanding and addressing the educational needs of undergraduate students.

Pay

$4,200 per semester.
