About the role
This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as-needed basis. Applications are accepted continually, and departments will refer to the pool as needed to fill temporary assignments. Applicants remain in the pool for 12 months.

Requirements
- Master’s in any field of engineering, or
- Bachelor’s in any engineering field and Master’s in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, or geology, or
- Bachelor’s in any engineering field and a professional engineer’s license (alternative qualification).
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Minimum qualifications follow guidelines set by the Academic Affairs Division of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. For equivalency questions, review the Faculty Equivalency Qualifications process. Submit equivalency requests only if your education or experience differs from the stated minimum qualifications.
Some specialized courses may require specific certificates (must meet minimum content requirements specified by accrediting agencies).
