Part-time Faculty, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Compensation Range: Hourly: $26.63 - $28.89
Location: Hybrid – Spectrum Center, San Diego, CA
About the Role
The Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences in the College of Business, Engineering and Technology at National University invites applications for part-time faculty specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or potential in teaching, a commitment to serving a diverse adult student body, and engagement in related scholarship and/or research. This role involves collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success.
Responsibilities
- Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
- Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals).
- Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
- Provide feedback to the course lead regarding course content.
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree and relevant professional experience is required.
- A Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field from a regionally accredited university is preferred.
- Industry experience in embedded systems, VLSI, and microelectronics is preferred.
- Online teaching experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in higher education is highly preferred.
- Curriculum development experience is preferred.
