Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to build relationships with and facilitate learning for elementary students in the JNS after-school program.
- Day-to-day supervision and education of one classroom of elementary students.
- Teach and guide a classroom of elementary students in the daily after-school program.
- Implement and enforce standards for effective behavior management according to Outreach's standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, children's ministry, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of previous classroom or group experience with elementary-age kids.
- Experience with and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families.
- Responsible and independent professional, as well as an effective team player.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
- A valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
- A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission & Faith.
