Part Time Educator (Wiseburn)

About the role

Right At School seeks part-time educators to support our mission of inspiring a love of learning, supporting schools, and giving parents peace of mind. This position works inside Wiseburn Schools, Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way.
• Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being, and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play.
• Communicate effectively with varied audiences including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
• Mentor and guide children aged 12-15 years old.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager to discuss professional progress and team accountability.

Requirements

• Complete a new LIVE Scan fingerprint and provide or obtain a completed Health Certificate with a Negative TB Test from a physician.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Have 1+ years of experience with youth ages 12 years-14 years in a school or group setting.

Qualifications

• College credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or a related field are preferred but not required.
• Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
• Experience working with children between 12 years and 15 years of age is a plus.

Skills

• Positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Pay

$19.00-$21.00 per hour (depending on years of experience in youth childcare in a school or group setting).

Schedule

Part-time schedule working typically 2:30 pm-6:00 pm (may vary slightly).
