Part Time Educator - Ledyard Public Schools
Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students. About the role
As an Educator, you will drive the mission by organizing and facilitating daily activities, leading by example, prioritizing safety and joy, and maintaining effective communication with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Responsibilities
- Review goals and updates, share ideas, and discuss professional progress in daily program meetings to encourage collaboration and team accountability.
- Prepare and align activities and curriculum with the program’s objectives.
- Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
- Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Requirements
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to meet Connecticut state-specific requirements.
- In-person First Aid and CPR certification.
- Cleared tuberculosis test.
- Proof of MMR vaccination.
- 18+ years of age.
- Proof of High School diploma/GED.
- At least 540 hours of documented experience working with unrelated children of the same age(s) served in this child day care center or group daycare home.
Pay
$16.00–$18.00 per hour (based on education and experience).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–8:35 AM and 3:10 PM–6:00 PM.
