Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Grand Junction Store and Clifton Donation Center

This position will be posted through Tuesday, August 18th, 2026. Availability to work weekends and closing shifts is required. The role may be based at our Grand Junction Store or Clifton Donation Center.

About the role

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand-alone donation centers (ADC). The role involves providing excellent and friendly customer service, including greeting customers, assisting with donations, and maintaining a safe and organized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions as needed.
  • Assist customers by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
  • Handle donated items with care and sort them into appropriate bins or production areas.
  • Inspect all donations and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or shipment to other locations.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
  • Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers, following opening and closing procedures when applicable.
  • Ensure supplies are well-stocked at remote sites.
  • Track and report donation levels daily to prevent overstocking of trailers at remote locations.
  • Communicate promptly when donation warehouses or trailers are full and a truck is needed.
  • Follow all retail center and donation center policies and procedures.
  • Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto trucks when necessary.
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a backup when required.
  • May be required to report to the store ADC or stand-alone center as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills to log into systems, order supplies, and send/receive emails.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to use safety equipment such as a dolly or pallet jack.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification to safely operate equipment (e.g., hydraulic baler, forklift).
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.

$16.65 per hour.

Schedule

  • Donation hours at stores: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM; Sunday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Donation hours at donation centers: Daily, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.
