About the Role
We are looking for a Part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work either Saturday or Sunday. The DSP is responsible for the safety, well-being, and care of our adult individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our ideal candidate will provide transportation to appointments and community activities, fostering a well-rounded life for our individuals. The DSP will assist in optimizing individual independence, supporting work habits and ethics, promoting communication, and encouraging growth and exploration in areas of individual interest. They will also provide support to reduce challenging behaviors, ensuring safe community integration.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and care of adults with intellectual disabilities
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities
- Support individuals in optimizing independence and work habits
- Promote communication and foster growth in areas of individual interest
- Assist in reducing challenging behaviors to ensure safe community integration
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Reliable car with current registration
- Experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Willingness to learn and grow
Qualifications
