Part Time Day Shift Caregiver

Essential Job Functions

• Aid residents with ADL tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility.
• Maintain resident dignity and respect while following all policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
• Communicate appropriate information and observed resident changes to a supervisor immediately.
• Encourage residents to socialize and participate in activities, and assist with activities as needed.
• Respond promptly and courteously to resident alerts, needs, and requests for care.
• Observe residents' emotional condition and report any changes to the nurse.
• Promote personal safety by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe situations.
• Ensure resident safety during fire or other safety drills.
• Perform other essential job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Critical Skills

• Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with various individuals and groups.
• Work effectively with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people.
• Communicate effectively in a manner that ensures resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Be proficient in the facility’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Education And Experience

• Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
• Use fine motor skills.

Cognitive Requirements

• Execute tasks independently.
• Express oneself clearly and effectively verbally.
• Concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptions.
• Have visual acuity and hearing alertness.
