Part Time - Custodian

About the role

The Custodian maintains cleanliness and safety within the facility through extensive cleaning, minor repairs, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and trash disposal (including waste weighing up to 55 pounds)
• Clean restrooms, wash windows, and replace light bulbs
• Set up facilities for use and ensure security by locking doors and windows
• Assist with major cleaning projects such as floor waxing and wall washing
• Perform minor repairs and report maintenance issues
• Maintain grounds by pulling weeds, removing rubbish, shoveling snow, and applying ice melt in winter
• Attend meetings and complete administrative tasks
• Collaborate professionally with staff and community members

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to lift and push up to 55 pounds
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, stand for extended periods, and navigate stairs frequently
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends
